What if we trained our minds like our bodies?
In today’s fast-paced world, child care staff face a burnout crisis.
By taking a holistic and proactive approach, we can treat mental health with the same commitment as physical fitness, helping staff thrive in their career and life.

Workshop Synopsis:
MENTAL FITNESS
Let's Be Proactive About Our Mental Health
Imagine a world where you were only encouraged to exercise when out of shape, but once you were fit, continuing was seen as optional. It's hard to imagine, right? Yet, society often treats mental health this way, waiting until someone hits burnout before addressing it. Emotional exhaustion, compassion fatigue, and stress are all too common among early childhood educators, especially with the emotional labor of caring for young children, tight staffing, and little built-in time to recover during the day.
What if we approached mental health like fitness, something to work on regularly, whether we're having a rough week or already feeling great? That's where Mental Fitness comes in. It's about being proactive, building resilience and strength before burnout sets in, so educators can show up for the children in their care while also protecting their own wellbeing.

About Ahmad
Ahmad Jabbir is a TEDx speaker and international speaker, having spoken in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Growing up, Ahmad struggled with his mental health and happiness, a challenge he later realized was part of a broader current mental health crisis affecting the world. His life transformed when he began working on his mental fitness. By pushing his comfort zone and drawing inspiration from various mentors, he found a path to improvement. This journey led him to:
-
Landing his dream job at the brand of Yes Theory, a YouTube channel with over 9 million subscribers, by going all-in during his virtual interview. Ahmad secured the job on the spot by sending a briefcase with his ideas to the CEO, delivered by an actor dressed as an FBI agent.
-
Competing in multiple races, including a 9-hour race up a mountain, a marathon, and a 6,000-foot elevation half marathon.
-
Meeting 100 people across 89 cities in 45 countries to learn their life stories. A project that took him 7 months to complete to understand different cultures and personalities.
-
Pushing his mental limits, he journaled daily for over 700 days to build confidence and read 100 books in five years to enhance his English.
-
Overcoming his social boundaries, he went from trying to cancel class presentations due to a fear of judgment to delivering over 150 speeches in the past decade.
